Nataša Radaković

research assistant

Group for Sociomicrobiology
Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology

Nataša Radaković is a Research Assistant in the Sociomicrobiology Group at the IMGGE. Her research focuses on investigating the virulence potential of pathogens using various infection models in zebrafish embryos (lat. Danio rerio).

She is currently carrying out the experimental part of her doctoral dissertation, which primarily investigates the virulence of Candida albicans under different conditions, with a special emphasis on cystic fibrosis environments. Within her research, she applies diverse infection models and genetically modified strains of C. albicans. A part of her work is dedicated to exploring novel alternative approaches for the treatment of infections caused by C. albicans.

She obtained her B.Sc. degree in 2018 in Molecular Biology and Physiology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, where she also defended her M.Sc. thesis in 2019. She started her Ph.D. studies in Microbiology the same year and joined IMGGE in 2020 as a Research Trainee. In 2023, supported by a FEMS Research and Training Grant, she conducted professional training at the Institute for Molecular Infection Biology in Würzburg, Germany.
