Mina Obradović
Group for Molecular Microbiology
Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology
Mina Obradović is a Senior Research Associate in the Molecular Microbiology Group, Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology, Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGE), University of Belgrade. Her research centers on bacteriophages as potential allies in the fight against persistent bacterial infections.
She is in the final stage of her doctoral studies focused on the isolation and characterization of bacteriophages active against multidrug-resistant Gram-negative pathogens. She has participated in several projects related to phages in the dairy industry and led a proof-of-concept project aimed at establishing a bacteriophage collection targeting the pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii. Within the Molecular Microbiology Group, she coordinates service analyses for determining the number of viable microorganisms in probiotic products.
Mina graduated in 2016 from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, with a degree in Molecular Biology and Physiology, and obtained her Master’s degree in 2017 from the same faculty. She enrolled in doctoral studies in Molecular Biology of Prokaryotes in 2017 at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, and began working as a research trainee at IMGGE in 2018.
