Vote for Top microbe from IMGGE

The International Microorganism Day takes place on the 17th September aiming to raise awareness among young people and the society in general on the role of microorganisms in our lives.
On this occasion, we will chose the Top-microbe from IMGGE for 2025.
The candidates are:
The Biofilm Buster: Pedobacter sp. BG31
This heroic microbe takes on one of the most stubborn villains in medicine: E. coli and her biofilms. Found on catheters and tough to remove, these biofilms can resist antibiotics, but when Pedobacter steps in, it weakens the enemy, and makes treatments work better.
The Lungs’ Best Friend: Lactiplantibacillus plantarum BGPKM22
Straight out of sour milk, this friendly bacterium helps shape a healthier future. Known for its anti-inflammatory powers, especially in the lungs, it's being looked at as a natural ally in fighting chronic lung diseases and helps us breathe easy.
The Gut’s Guru for Good Vibes: Bifidobacterium adolescentis NGB329
This native of the human gut is more than just a quiet resident. It produces GABA, a molecule that keeps gut cells happy and boosts good bacteria. Think of it as your microbiome’s personal fitness coach.
The Plant Whisperer: Paraburkholderia phytofirmans PsJN
This green-thumbed microbe lives side-by-side with plants, helping them grow stronger, taller, and more resistant to disease. It’s like a microscopic gardener, tuning plants’ defenses and cheering them on from the roots.
The Soil Superhero: Pseudomonas donghuensis KPS-14
Found in soil treated with herbicides, this tough little microbe fights off dangerous bacteria and fungi that attack plants. It’s a natural protector of crops, making it a quiet warrior for food security and healthier farming.
