The Gene Regulation in Cancer Group published in „Biomolecules“ a paper entitled  „Transcript PHF19-207 May Be a Long Non-Coding RNA with Tumor-Promoting Role in Colon Cancer“.

The study has characterized a molecule called PHF19-207, which may play a role in the growth of colon cancer. This molecule is produced more in cancer cells than in healthy gut cells, especially in advanced stages of the disease. It's also found in exosomes, tiny particles released by tumor cells, hinting at its potential as a non-invasive biomarker for early disease detection.

This research is part of the dissertation of Dunja Pavlović who is doing her PhD in IMGGE under the mentorship of Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić.
