Last week, Belgrade hosted the 1st Regional SDIR-HDIR-MOKAD congress (SHM1RC) organized by the national cancer research societies of Serbia, Croatia and Turkey. The meeting organized with the support from European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) aimed to address key topics in current cancer research, and also to enhance collaboration and the exchange of new ideas. 

Several researchers from five IMGGE groups participated at the congress: Molecular Biomedicine Group, Molecular Biology Group, Human Molecular Genetics Group, Muscle Cellular and Molecular Biology Group and Gene Regulation in Cancer Group. 

 The poster titled "Modelling pancreatic carcinoma in vitro – critical morphological and functional differences between 2D and 3D mono- and co-cultures" was selected for an oral presentation, delivered by Dr. Isidora Petrović of the Human Molecular Genetics Group.
