Gene Regulation in Cancer Group
Department of Human Molecular Genetics and Genomics
Dunja Pavlović is a Research Assistant in the Gene Regulation in Cancer Group at the IMGGE. Her work focuses on studying non-coding RNA molecules and their role in the development and progression of malignant diseases. Throughout her research, she has gained experience in various molecular biology techniques and in working with cell cultures. In addition, she has a strong interest in bioinformatics and genomics, which she increasingly applies in her research.
Dunja obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, in 2021, and later completed her Master’s degree at the same faculty, specializing in Applied Genetics. The experimental part of her Master’s thesis was conducted at the IMGGE, under the supervision of Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić. She enrolled in her PhD studies in 2022 and is currently working on the experimental part of her doctoral thesis.
During her undergraduate and Master’s studies, she was also active at the Petnica Science Center, where she led the Biology program, and she is now engaged there as a teaching associate. Beyond her lab work, Dunja is passionate about science communication and outreach, participating in events such as the Researchers’ Night and the Science Festival.
