Anastasija Bubanja
Group for Gene Regulation in Cancer
Department of Human Molecular Genetics and Genomics
Anastasija Bubanja is a Junior Researcher in the Gene Regulation in Cancer Group IMGGE. She graduated in 2023 from the Molecular Biology and Physiology module at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, and in the same year enrolled in the Master's program in Human Molecular Biology, earning the title of MSc in Molecular Biology in 2024. She then began her PhD studies at the Faculty of Biology, in the Molecular Biology program, Molecular Genetics and Genomics module.
She is currently employed as a Junior Researcher at IMGGE, where she conducts the experimental part of her doctoral thesis. Her research focuses on studying changes in gene expression regulation in tumors, with a particular emphasis on colorectal cancer, as well as on the functional analysis of transcripts whose expression is altered, aiming to identify them as potential predictive or diagnostic biomarkers. Her scientific interests are the molecular basis of malignant cellular transformation, bioinformatics, genomics, non‑coding RNA molecules, and prognostic and predictive biomarkers in colorectal cancer.
