Anđela Milićević

Junior researcher

Group for muscle cellular and molecular biology
Department of Human Molecular Genetics and Genomics

Anđela Milićević is a research trainee in the Muscle Cellular and Molecular Biology Group in IMGGE.

Her research focuses on the processes of skeletal muscle regeneration using zebrafish as a model organism. Her experimental work for her PhD thesis is currently designed as a study aimed at investigating the role of the ankrd1a gene in the recovery of skeletal muscles following cryoinjury, which models severe soft tissue trauma, as well as its contribution to the beneficial effects of physical activity on muscle repair.

She completed her education at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, earning a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2022. She obtained her Master's degree in 2023 in the Experimental Physiology of Humans and Animals, after which she enrolled in PhD studies in the Cell and Tissue Biology module and joined IMGGE as a research trainee.
