Mila Ljujic, PhD, winner of Alpha-1-Antitrypsin Laurell's Training Award

Mila Ljujic, PhD, Research Associate from Laboratory for Molecular Biology IMGGE, has won Alpha-1-Antitrypsin Laurell's Training Award by Grifols for the project entitled "Role of autophagy in modifying the cellular response in alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency".

This award supports research projects aimed at enhancing the understanding of disease mechanisms of alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency and associated disorders and to help improving existing as well as finding new therapies. Mila Ljujic has recently begun her postdoctoral research in Apoptosis Research Centre, NUI Galway in Ireland.
