The microscopes are optical instruments with the purpose to magnify specimens or objects too small to be seen by the naked eye.

Institute houses advanced microscopes for light microscopy (bright-field, phase-contrast, fluorescence and confocal microscopes, stereomicroscope) supported with CCD cameras and image analysis softwares.

At the Institute these instruments are used by researchers for generation of high quality images from different specimens, including chromosomes, fixed cells and tissue sections, live cells and organisms, in order to improve basic and applied research.
